The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) of the Central Crime Station (CCS) on Sunday registered a case after personal and medical records of patients at Star Hospitals were allegedly leaked online. Police took up the case following a complaint filed by Star Hospitals CEO Rahul Medakkar. According to the complaint, patients’ personal details and medical records were leaked, along with the hospital’s internal confidential information.
The complaint stated that the leaked data was hosted on a website, identified as “warehouse. diy and login credentials to access the website were allegedly shared through WhatsApp. It was also alleged that personal information of hospital employees was exposed. Hospital officials expressed concern that the data leak could lead to identity theft, financial fraud, and harassment of patients and staff.
