A huge tragedy has occurred in Vietnam. A boat carrying Indian tourists has capsized. The tourists are missing in this accident. The accident took place near Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. It is learnt that 15 people have died in this accident so far. Among them are Telugu nationals. Also, 21 other people who are seriously ill are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Recently, a mobile company took a group of 250 people from India on a tour to Vietnam. All of them are believed to be distributors of the mobile company. However, 40 of them are mobile distributors from Telangana and 35 from Andhra Pradesh. According to a report by Vietnamese news portal ‘VN Express International’, as part of the tour, three groups went on a tour this afternoon.
A speedboat carrying 32 Indian tourists and four crew members set off from Han Mae Rut to An Thoi Port. However, midway through the journey, the boat capsized about 400 meters from the shore at Han Mae Rut Ngoi. As a result, the passengers on the boat drowned in the sea. The news portal said that nearby tourist boat operators immediately reached the spot for help.
Officials have set up control rooms to provide information and assistance on the accident. Officials have revealed that control rooms have been set up at the Indian Embassy in Hanoi and the Indian Consulate General Office in Ho Chi Minh City.
