A wave of shock has swept through the Shabad police station limits in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district following the brutal murder of six people. The incident occurred on Saturday morning in Daivalaguda, located at the Shabad Mandal headquarters. A man named Rajkumar committed the murders out of a grudge regarding a POCSO case filed against him.
It is alleged that he murdered his wife, Parvathi, and their two sons, as well as the minor girl who had filed the POCSO case against him, along with her mother (Lakshmi) and grandmother (Rukkamma).
First, at his home in Daivalaguda, he brutally murdered his wife Sarita (33) and their two sons—4-year-old Parikshit and 2-year-old Daivakshit—by slitting their throats with a knife. Subsequently, he entered the home of the 17-year-old minor girl near the Shabad PRR Stadium and attempted to drag her away forcibly. When the girl’s mother and grandmother tried to intervene, the accused stabbed both of them to death.
He then took the girl to the vicinity of Akhil Sagar Lake near Daivalaguda and killed her by slitting her throat. Afterward, he called his father, Arun Kumar, stating that he had killed six people and intended to commit suicide.
His father informed the police. Rajkumar had previously been arrested in connection with the POCSO case; the girl’s mother had lodged a complaint with the police on May 16, alleging that he had harassed the girl. The accused, who was out on bail, committed this heinous act early Saturday morning. Rajkumar had married Sarita seven years ago after falling in love with her.
Future City Commissioner of Police (CP) Tarun Joshi stated that a total of six murders took place across two separate locations. He stated that the accused entered the victim’s house around 11 PM. After stabbing the victim’s mother and grandmother to death, he took the minor girl to Sagarkunta Lake and killed her.
The Police Commissioner further revealed that the accused then went home and killed his wife and two young children. Following the murders, he called his parents to inform them that he had killed six people and was now going to end his own life.
He stated that the bodies have been sent to the hospital for post-mortem examinations. The Police Commissioner noted that Rajkumar is currently absconding, and seven special police teams have been deployed to locate him. Tarun Joshi remarked that the fact that the accused had also killed his wife and children came as a shock to the police as well.
Tensions have escalated in Shabad over this heinous mass murder. Relatives of the deceased staged a protest regarding the six killings; they held a sit-in on the Shabad-Kandi Road, demanding that the accused be handed over to them. Expressing their outrage, they warned that if Rajkumar is not arrested immediately, he could claim more lives.
