A video showing a hostel warden allegedly assaulting a female student inside a hostel in Telangana has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage and demands for strict action from student organisations. The incident reportedly took place on November 24, though the reason behind the assault has not yet been officially clarified.
In the footage, the warden, identified as Bhavani, is seen scolding the student for going missing after an examination, saying that the incident had put her job at risk and caused her immense stress.
Moments later, the situation escalates as the warden is seen physically attacking the student, striking her repeatedly with her hands and a stick, while the victim can be heard pleading for forgiveness. The video was allegedly recorded by another student present at the scene.
So far, authorities have not issued any official statement confirming whether a case has been registered against the warden or if departmental action has been initiated. The disturbing visuals have raised serious concerns about student safety within hostel premises.
Several student organisations and social groups have condemned the incident, demanding justice for the victim and strict punishment for those responsible. Many have also urged the government to ensure greater protection and welfare for students, particularly those from the SC community.
In a separate incident, a government school teacher in northeast Delhi has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a Class 6 student for not bringing his Hindi textbook to school. The incident occurred on August 7 at a government school in the Tukmirpur area. The 12-year-old boy was taken to GTB Hospital for treatment. Although the family did not initially file a complaint, hospital authorities informed the police, leading to an investigation and the teacher’s arrest.
