The Federation of Western India Cine Employees has taken a strong stance against Ranveer Singh regarding his sudden exit from Farhan Akhtar’s film, ‘Don 3’. During a press conference held today, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees announced that, in light of the ‘Don 3’ controversy, they have imposed a ban on Ranveer Singh.
On Monday, May 25, Chief Advisor Ashok Pandit, President Birendra Nath Tiwari, and Honorary General Secretary Ashok Dubey addressed the media regarding this decision by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees.
The Federation’s Chief Advisor, Ashok Pandit, stated that Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani had filed a complaint against Ranveer Singh with the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association. During this process, Ritesh Sidhwani met with them in person, while Farhan Akhtar joined the meeting via video call. They apprised the Federation of the ongoing dispute surrounding ‘Don 3’ and the fact that Ranveer had abandoned the project just three weeks before filming was scheduled to begin.
Ashok revealed that they had requested Ranveer to meet with them in person on three separate occasions, but he failed to respond. Subsequently, after they announced the press conference, the actor sent them an email asserting that the matter did not fall within their jurisdiction. Ashok also confirmed that Farhan’s production house, Excel Entertainment, has demanded ₹45 crore from Ranveer as compensation.
Following Ashok Pandit, the Federation’s President, B.N. Tiwari, addressed the media and announced that they have issued a directive of non-cooperation against Ranveer Singh. Meanwhile, a member of the Federation stated that, effective immediately—whether it be a spot boy, director, cameraman, or lightman—no one will work with Ranveer.
Ranveer was slated to play the lead role in Farhan Akhtar’s film, ‘Don 3’. However, according to media reports, the actor decided to opt out of the film just a few weeks before shooting was scheduled to begin. Farhan and his business partner, Ritesh Sidhwani, filed an official complaint against the actor with industry bodies.
Nevertheless, to date, neither Farhan nor Ranveer has spoken to the media regarding this dispute, nor has either of them issued a statement concerning the ban imposed on Ranveer by the FWICE.
