The Uttarakhand Cabinet meeting has concluded. Fifteen proposals were approved during the meeting held today, Friday, August 7, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Notably, people from the general category will now also be able to avail the benefits of the state’s cattle-rearing scheme. Additionally, a significant decision regarding wage payments to workers has been taken.
To boost tourism and leverage medicinal herbs found in forest areas, amendments may be made to the high-powered committee chaired by the Chief Secretary. Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the Uttarakhand Wage Code Rules; this move ensures the protection of the interests of workers in both organized and unorganized sectors. Wages must be paid by the 7th of every month, and the principle of “equal pay for equal work” will apply to both male and female workers.
