Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy launched an all-out political attack on the Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging citizens to dethrone the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and elect Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister.
Leading a massive protest dharna at Ambedkar Chowrasta in Kodangal, the Chief Minister demanded the immediate dismissal and arrest of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the widespread NEET paper leak controversy.
CM Revanth strongly condemned the alleged physical assault and detention of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi by Delhi Police during their demonstration outside the Prime Minister’s residence.
The CM alleged that Rahul Gandhi sustained injuries during the crackdown, describing the police action as an attack on democratic rights guaranteed by Dr BR Ambedkar’s Constitution.
“Shedding blood for the country is nothing new for the Gandhi family. From Indira Gandhi to Sonia Gandhi, their legacy is synonymous with sacrifice. Despite leading for years, Sonia Gandhi repeatedly declined the Prime Minister’s post and appointed Mallikarjun Kharge as Leader of the Opposition, proving her dedication to selfless public service,” the CM declared.
Here are highlights from CM Revanth’s speech:
1. Sacking of Dharmendra Pradhan: The CM asserted that the agitation would continue uninterrupted until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is removed from the Cabinet for failing to protect the careers of millions of medical aspirants.
2. Paper leaks in BJP-ruled states: CM Revanth alleged that question papers are regularly sold for crores of rupees in BJP-ruled states, putting the future of students in jeopardy.
3. Protest rights stripped: He criticised the PM Modi administration for refusing to allow a formal debate on the examination leaks in Parliament and for using force, lathi charges and detentions against protesting students at Jantar Mantar.
Drawing parallels to previous examination irregularities, the Chief Minister pointed out that Globarena—a proxy firm allegedly linked to BRS leader KT Rama Rao (KTR)—was responsible for the 2019 Telangana Intermediate exam results fiasco.
He alleged that the same entity rebranded itself and secured contracts through connections in Delhi with the BJP.
CM Revanth stated that had strict criminal action been taken against Globarena back in 2019, national-level paper leaks like the NEET controversy could have been prevented.
Highlighting the Congress party’s legacy of fighting British colonial rule, the Chief Minister affirmed that the party would not remain silent while the futures of students are compromised. He called upon the public and student organisations across the nation to unite, challenge the current administration and bring about political change at the Centre.
