Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met with union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi, requesting crucial approvals for the state’s major infrastructure projects, including the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and a massive 12-lane greenfield highway.
During the high-level meeting at Gadkari’s residence, the Chief Minister urged the Union Cabinet to clear the pending northern section of the RRR, noting that 95% of the land acquisition for this phase is already complete.
He also requested final approvals for the southern section so the state can execute both phases simultaneously, which he explained would lower costs and accelerate completion.

Reddy also pitched the proposed greenfield highway connecting the upcoming ‘Bharat Future City’ to Bandar Port via Amaravati. Mandated under the AP Reorganisation Act, this 12-lane corridor is designed to shave 100 kilometers off the travel distance between Hyderabad and Vijayawada, significantly speeding up freight transport times to the port.
Additionally, the Chief Minister sought central intervention to secure pending forest clearances for the elevated corridor passing through the Nallamala Sanctuary, connecting Mannanur to Srisailam.
To relieve traffic congestion, Reddy requested the sanctioning of a new six-lane highway from Mancherial to Hyderabad to serve as an alternative to the heavily utilized Rajiv Highway, promising that the state government would fully handle the required land acquisition.
The meeting was attended by Nalgonda MP Raghuveer Reddy and other senior state officials.
