In his very first election with the TVK, Vijay has made history in Tamil Nadu. He has brought an end to the 50-year rule of the ‘Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’ (DMK) and the ‘All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’ (AIADMK) in the state. Vijay—the actor-turned-politician—is receiving a flood of congratulations from the world of cinema. South Indian stars including Rajinikanth, Dhanush, Suriya, Chiranjeevi, and Kamal Haasan are among the many celebrities who have congratulated Vijay.

Late on the night of May 4, Rajinikanth congratulated Thalapathy Vijay—the leader of the victorious alliance—and all members of his party on their magnificent victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Sharing a post on his X handle, he wrote: “My heartfelt congratulations to Vijay, the President of the victorious ‘Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam,’ and his party members for their magnificent victory in the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.”
