The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has concluded. A total of 17 proposals received approval. Banshidhar Tiwari, Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister, briefed the press regarding these decisions.
- Approval granted for the Uttarakhand State Cooperative Policy-2026, aligned with the National Cooperative Policy-2026.
- Approval granted for the Uttarakhand Motor Vehicle Taxation Reform Act in the transport sector. The ‘Green Cess’ exemption for CNG vehicles in Uttarakhand will continue, while the relief previously granted to hybrid vehicles has been withdrawn.
- The Chief Minister directed that Uttarakhand’s new Electric Vehicle (EV) policy be formulated after studying the EV policies of other states in the country.
- Approval granted for the creation of a statistics cadre within the Uttarakhand Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare.
- Approval granted for the establishment of the Uttarakhand Medical Supply Corporation to procure medicines and surgical supplies for the state health department. Functioning under the leadership of the Chief Secretary, this corporation will handle the procurement of medicines, surgical items, and chemicals.
- Approval granted for the allocation of one acre of land in Haridwar for the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and for the Jailor Service Rules.
- Approval granted for the ‘Uttarakhand Lokayukta Search Committee, 2026’ to select members under the Uttarakhand Lokayukta Act, 2014.
- Approval granted for the Uttarakhand Population Survey Records Rules, 2026.
- Agreement reached to absorb Class III and Class IV employees of the Uttarakhand Seeds and Development Corporation into other departments.
- The state government will now bear the cost of the 10% contribution previously required from slum dwellers for the 116 housing units at Kathbangla (along the Rispana river).
- Approval granted for drinking water and sewerage projects in urban local bodies.
Proposal approved for the Antyodaya Foundation to establish a Cancer Institute in Rishikesh; a stamp duty - exemption has been granted.
