Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami handed over appointment letters to 187 youths during a program held on Friday at the ‘Mukhya Sevak Sadan’ within the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. Appointment letters were awarded to 182 candidates selected through the PCS Main Examination-2024 conducted by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, and to 5 candidates selected for the post of Personal Assistant in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes to all the newly selected candidates. He stated that these appointment letters are not merely documents for entering government service but symbolize the trust and expectations of the 1.25 crore people of Uttarakhand and a pledge to serve the public. He remarked that, henceforth, an officer’s identity would be defined not by their designation, but by their work style, sensitivity, and dedication to public service.
The Chief Minister noted that approximately 1.5 lakh candidates had applied for the Uttarakhand PCS Main Examination-2024, with over 71,000 appearing for the exam; of these, only 182 were selected. He attributed this success to the candidates’ talent, hard work, discipline, and firm resolve.
The Chief Minister emphasized that in a democracy, holding a position means serving the public rather than ruling over them. The state government is working based on the mantra of ‘Simplification, Solution, Disposal, and Satisfaction.’
He urged the newly selected officers to ensure that the benefits of government schemes and services reach the person standing at the very last rung of society with sensitivity and transparency. He stated that every citizen arriving from remote areas should experience respect, trust, and timely resolution of issues in government offices.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the state government had implemented the country’s strictest anti-cheating law to ensure complete transparency in recruitment processes. Consequently, the youth’s confidence in recruitment examinations has been strengthened. He added that over the past four and a half years, the state government has appointed more than 34,000 youths to government services with complete transparency and fairness. The state government’s commitment to the welfare of the youth has been further strengthened today as another 187 young people have joined this initiative.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government aims to provide every youth in Uttarakhand with opportunities aligned with their talent and qualifications, ensuring they are not compelled to leave the state in search of employment. He added that the government is continuously working to harness both the region’s water resources and its youth—transforming them into the greatest driving forces behind Uttarakhand’s development.
