Hyderabad: In a major push towards clean and sustainable urban transport, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (Telangana State Road Transport Corporation) has initiated steps to operationalise 2,200 electric buses across the Greater Hyderabad region.
As part of this effort, a high-level coordination meeting was held on Thursday at the headquarters of the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) to finalise arrangements for providing electricity connections to EV charging stations.
Officials informed that EV charging stations will be established at 25 TGSRTC depots within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.
In addition, two charging points will come up at the Suryapet depot, while one charging station each will be set up at the Sangareddy and Nalgonda depots.
The total power requirement for operating these charging facilities is estimated at around 124 megawatts.
