The Women’s Wing of the Telangana Tamil Sangam organized a vibrant International Women’s Day Celebration – 2026 at Keyes Girls High School, where hundreds of women from the community participated enthusiastically, celebrating womanhood, achievement, and empowerment.
The event was graced by Dr. Nirmala Rajaram, Principal Chief Medical Director (PCMD), South Central Railway, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. In her address, she emphasized the importance of women’s leadership, health awareness, and active community participation, encouraging women to continue striving for excellence in all walks of life.

As part of the celebrations, the Sangam honoured several Women Achievers from the community for their remarkable contributions in various fields. The awardees included:

The awardees were felicitated with a shawl and citation in recognition of their achievements and service to society.
The programme featured a variety of activities including fun games, a medical camp, a group photo session, a poetry forum, a panel discussion on social issues, inspiring speeches, and colourful cultural performances by members of the community.
In keeping with the Tamil cultural philosophy that “Nature itself is divine,” the organizers distributed seed balls to participants to promote environmental awareness and tree plantation initiatives.

The event concluded with a traditional dinner, fostering fellowship and strengthening community bonding among participants.
Office bearers of the Sangam stated that the celebration aimed not only to honour women’s achievements but also to create a platform for meaningful discussions on social awareness, empowerment, and community development.
